The
European Liberal Youth together with the
Friedrich Naumann Foundation organized from 5th to 9th September 2007 a training on Campaigning for political youth organizations.
The event was held in the "Theodor Heuss Akademie" in Gummersbach, Germany and was attended by representatives of LYMEC Member organizations involved or responsible for planning and managing electoral campaigns within their organisations.
The aim of this training was to provide a fundamental theoretical understanding of various processes involved in running political campaigns. In this extent the program included lecturers on methods of strategic planning for electoral campaigns, strategy implementation and controlling, use of opinion polls, how to identify target groups and how use them during an electoral campaign, setting-up the target image of the organization and how to best communicate it to the outside world.
On Saturday Sept 8th, we welcomed the presence of Pam Evenhuis, a professional consultant in political communication, who offered the participants a highly interesting presentation on real life campaigns and communication strategies in various European countries.
During the 4-day training the participants learned how to best plan and manage electoral campaigns and shared between them their own experiences and ideas about running electoral campaigns.
