Young liberals want to fight for privacy rights. We want to challenge the justifications given for EU legislative action in the area in order to guarantee the necessity and effectiveness of any privacy restriction. We are not convinced that the best way is to collect data, it is a breach of everyone’s right to privacy, and at the same time it increases the risk of hacking and identity theft in the Internet-driven societies in which we live.

A reduction in our freedoms and rights can be justified in some cases, but the respect of our humanity is not negotiable. Young liberals fight for reason and proportionality! This campaign site presents our campaign on privacy. If you will have a look around the site you will see stories from young candidates to the European Parliament election in June 2009, you see our leaflet on this topic and you will find extra information about this topic. We also invite you to take part in our street actions. On the 30th of May at 15H we will make street actions about privacy in several EU member states.
